The model for Patterns in Tidal is kind of beautiful to my mind and I find it's a fantastic tool for helping me think about structure in music (and elsewhere). Overall, Tidal feels richer for me in terms of making the music I want to make. BTW, the performers in the video you posted use SuperCollider.Ä«etween Sonic Pi and Tidal, Sonic Pi is much simpler to get started with in terms of installation etc (really installing Tidal isn't too bad, but updating it can be). But if you want to give it a try, this guide was super helpful for me. ![]() A (sorta) companion repository to co34ptlivecode. Having said that, I personally find it quite painful for live coding. A repository of readmes, techniques, notes and other materials about how i live code in SuperCollider. It has since been widely used in acoustic research, interactive programming, and live coding. SuperCollider is great for prototyping synths, building elaborate systems etc, and because it gets used as a 'backend' for so many other platforms it is really helpful to have some experience with it. SuperCollider 12 is a text-based programming environment originally designed for real-time audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content. SuperCollider is an open source software environment and dynamic coding language for audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. ![]() In the new book, Grard Assayag and Andrew Gerzso (ed.), New Computational Paradigms. I've spent a decent amount of time with SuperCollider, Sonic Pi, and Tidal Cycles. Live-coding music with FoxDot and SuperCollider. Article on Conversational Programming and Live Coding in SuperCollider. I've heard people complain that it has a bunch of known bugs that will never get fixed because they would constitute breaking changes for academic projects. It currently makes use of FoxDot, supercollider and vim, but any cli application with a supercollider backend is theoretically supported. I didn't think CSound got much use these days. This project is an attempt to a nice looking music live coding environment based on a cool-retro-term fork.
